Disassembly lot-sizing problem: Detection and quantification of surplus
Abstract
This paper presents a production planning problem in disassembly systems, which is the problem of determining the quantity and timing of disassembly of end-of-life products in order to satisfy the demand of their parts or components over a finite planning horizon. Traditionally, model for this problem do not allow stockout which lead to solution with inventory surplus at the end of the planning horizon. The idea of this work is to propose a method to compute the inventory surplus regardless of the optimization results. The advantages of a model with lost sales are then developed to limit inventory surplus.
