Detection of chemical molecules with integrated plasmonic glass nanotips
Abstract
In this paper, we use integrated plasmonic glass nanotips for the detection of chemical molecules at very low concentration level by means of extinction spectroscopy. For this we employ on nanosensors based on localized surface plasmon resonance. Furthermore, we show that the sensitivity of these nanosensors is increased by a factor of two orders of magnitude compared to the sensitivities reported in the litterature. This enhancement is due to the confinement of the light within the tips, because of the specific geometry of this new type of substrate. These results represent new steps in the field of biological and chemical nanosensors applications.
