An integrated model is proposed which jointly describes the state of the system and its degradation. By adopting a Piecewise Deterministic Markov Process, the RUL (Remaining Useful Life) can be computed by a two-step technique. First, the system state regarding the available observations is estimated on-line by usingthe Particle Filter method. Then, the reliability of the system is computed with a classical Monte Carlo method. To illustrate the approach, a well-known simulated water level control system is used. %G English %L hal-02586081 %U https://utt.hal.science/hal-02586081 %~ CNRS %~ UNIV-TROYES %~ UTT %~ UTT-LIST3N %~ LM2S-UTT
